The beginning of October saw the opening of the season for the Croquet section. The first tournament, the Muffet Cup, for handicaps 8-10 was won by Stella Reynolds and the runner up Penny Thornwill. The competition was well supported and the final was very closely contested. Stella edging out Penny by 7 hoops to 5.

In November the section played the Handicap Doubles competition. Again the event was well supported with Di Schuurman and Sue Cloete edging out Richard Prosser and Diana Lapping by 7 hoops to 5 in the final.

Left to right Di Schuurman and Sue Cloete (winners) Richard Prosser and Diana Lapping (runners up).

The first team has made an excellent start to the open doubles Robinson Cup league with good wins against Rondebosch, Greyton and Fish Hoek.

This tournament is played in great spirits but very competitive!
